Don't be afraid of color
Often when staging a home the thought is to go totally neutral, while yes a clean slate for potential buyers to envision their own designs and style is always a great selling tactic, you don't have to shy away from color. While you often find this color in pops around the home, pillows, artwork, plants and flowers, why not consider it on a larger scale, the walls? While I'd never recommend painting your walls Grover blue (yes, a room in my home had walls that color when we first toured) there are many colors that add brightness and visual interest to a home without going overboard. Don't want to commit to an entire room? Consider and accent wall or an architectural feature like a fireplace or alcove. This Houzz article has some fantastic ideas and some of my favorite paint colors.
